Community Gathering

A dinner and ceilidh for artists/facilitators in the community and people attached to Lyra/Greater Craigmillar

Time & Location

03 May 2023, 19:00 – 22:30

Lyra Artspace, Artspace 11, Harewood Rd, Edinburgh EH16 4NT, UK

About the event

You are invited as a special guest to Lyra’s first Community Gathering!

This dinner and ceilidh on Wed 3 May is for grown-ups who work with young people and/or facilitate art with young people in the community whether it be music, visual art, dance, theatre, design, photography, filmmaking, storytelling, spoken word and everything in between!

These gatherings aim to promote the existing artistic community, build and upkeep new connections of local artists and facilitators, those working and/or interested in working with children and young people in the area. It is a chance to meet, hang out and get to know other organisations from Greater Craigmillar better, in a social capacity. We hope to strengthen our relationships, to support one another and also have fun!

Come and have a hooley with your peers!

The evening runs 7 - 10.30pm and will look a little like this:

  • Welcome with some live music
  • Meet some interesting people!
  • Dinner is served
  • Ceilidh time
  • Do a turn/mingle!

The event is free but if you want, you can contribute a song/poem/dance/your chat to the ‘do a turn’ section. Soft drinks will be available and you’re welcome to BYOB something stronger; this event is for ages 18+.
