Our teenage programme is designed to provide a range of different ways for teenagers to engage with Lyra! Whether you're interested in performing, making your own work or learning about everything that happens backstage, there is a place for you. All of the groups will collaborate with experienced Artists and Practitioners, working-by-side with professionals to bring our projects and productions to life.

Teen: Backstage
MAKE IT HAPPEN.
Age group: S1 +
Day: Tuesdays
Time: 17:30 - 19:30 (with an optional dinner at 5pm)
Teen Backstage is for teens interested in everything that goes into making performances and events happen. You’ll learn technical and producing skills, help choose and host Lyra’s Theatre Season, and get involved in planning and delivering Lyra's festival, Bright & Wild.

Teen: Makers
MAKE IT YOUR OWN.
Age Group: S1 +
Day: Fridays
Time: 16:00 – 18:00 (with optional take-away dinner)
Teen Makers is for young people who want to create original performances and events together. You’ll come up with ideas, make decisions as a group and work with a Lead Artist to turn those ideas into something you can share with an audience, including creating work for Bright & Wild, Lyra’s festival of work made with and for children and teenagers.

Young Ensemble
PERFORM AND TOUR.

Day/Time: Project Dependent
Young Ensemble is a contemporary performance company focused on making and touring original dance theatre productions with live music.
Young Ensemble is for teens who are especially passionate about performing and ready to commit to a more intensive creation process. You’ll work with a professional creative team to devise, rehearse and perform an original dance theatre show with live music, before taking it on tour.
How do I get involved?
Shows are cast on a yearly basis by invitation from the Young Ensemble Director.
