A NOTE FROM THE DIRECTOR
Meet Me On The Dance Floor has been devised with The Outline after they chose to explore the idea of boxes and the systems that they find themselves stuck into as young people today. Throughout our process, we have been unpacking those ideas through creating movement, writing performance text and improvisation. Meet Me On The Dance Floor is the culmination of thousands of creative ideas from The Outline, lots and lots of sweat from dancing in rehearsals and the collective hope that being your authentic self means you can fit in all or none of the boxes life throws at you.

A NOTE FROM THE DIRECTOR
Thank you so much for coming along to find yourself a magpie and follow it! It has been such an honour to work with the Thursday Young Artists over the last 9 months - their creativity, determination, imagination and joy has made this show what it is. From the foley sound effects, to the crazy dance routines, to the shadowy puppets, all of the elements of the show have been elevated and improved by their input. They are true artists and performers, and I hope you love watching the show as much as I loved making it! So sit back, relax, and enjoy the journey into The Other World! - Hope

A NOTE FROM THE DIRECTOR
Making Take up Space was something that has been brewing for years, working with various iterations of Lyra's Young Company and Crew and experiencing many teenagers coming through Lyra telling me over and again similar things about having no space/place to call their own.
I wanted to give the young people an opportunity to put their frustrations onto the stage and let their thoughts be heard. Setting their hard-hitting message within a party/gig/rave seemed like the perfect way to deliver this and bring audiences along with us.
This cast and crew have surpassed even my expectations of how bright, strong, talented and political the teenagers from this area are and of course we wouldn't have a show without them and their incredible insights and intellect for which I am very grateful.
