Schools

Lyra aims to maintain great links with all local High Schools, Primary Schools and Early Years Centres in the Greater Craigmillar area. Our community has fantastic local schools, who we work in partnership with to ensure that the children’s lives are culturally rich and to reach as many local young people as possible.

Our aim is to embed a love of the performing arts within our community by providing inspiring and empowering opportunities which enhance formal learning within the school setting.

What do we offer?

As well as creating opportunities for local young people to create and take part in productions at Lyra, we also present a programme of professional performances which are offered FREE to groups from our local schools.

Further to our regular activities, we also offer in-school projects and artist residencies. Find out more about our most recent project, Helen’s Letters.

Connecting with Teachers

If you are a teacher working in our local community and are interested in finding out more about our work and would like to connect with Lyra please contact our Projects and Engagement Manager, Anna Plasberg-Hill on anna@lyra.co.uk.

We can also offer CPD training to develop skills in using arts within the classroom.
