The Other Side of the Hill
’The Other Side of the Hill will facilitate inclusive access to the festivals and their year-round extended programmes, supporting the cultural rights of some of the city’s most vulnerable children whilst enabling the festivals to fulfil the aims outlined in the “Deep and Wide Engagement - participation, learning and belonging” section of Thundering Hooves 2.0.’ - Faith Liddell
The Other Side of the Hill represents the first year of a three-year, multi arts project to create a series of new performances, artworks, workshops and events centred around themes of connection and disconnection. The project is led by Artistic Director, Jo Timmins, and the former CEO of Imaginate, Tony Reekie. In 2017, Lyra is collaborating with girls and young women aged between 8 and 25 and their older female relatives and friends. With the aim of connecting participants to the cultural city of Edinburgh, the project works in partnership with organisations including Festivals Edinburgh, Imaginate and Edinburgh International Book Festival.
